GAMES AND GRATITUDE: A recipe for Love!
Visiting with the children on two of our trips to Tanzania made our trips complete. One would think the safaris, wild animals, or the food would be top on the list, but, it’s not. The graciousness of our host, whom I respectfully call “Mr. Pete,” and his wife,
GOODNESS AND UNITY
I have traveled with Safari Kay to Tanzania on “2” of her journeys. The animals were incredible but the CHILDREN of the Leaders of Tomorrow Children’s Home was the highlight of both my incredible experiences.
PLAYIN’ DADDY
When my husband and I entered the school compound, we saw colorful murals painted on many of the buildings. These buildings housed dormitories, workshops, common areas, and classrooms. Shade trees and flowering bushes created a cool canopy from the warm weather.
MY SPECIAL TUNIC
At Pete’s school there is a small number of staff. One young woman Mwajabu, helped herd the children to Pete’s apartment to listen to his story with us (his guests).
HIGHLIGHT OF MY TRIP
My experience at UAACC was amazing. It has been nearly 6 years since I’ve traveled to Tanzania, but I remember it like it was yesterday. Listening to the stories of Pete O’Neal is like none other.
OVERCOME WITH EMOTION ON MY FIRST VISIT
My name is Millie. My first trip to Tanzania was in February, 2013 and Safari Kay included a visit to UAACC. All of Kay’s guests brought suitcases full of clothes, books, toys and medicine for Pete, Charlotte and the children.
THE ‘IT” TRIP
My friend and I had been taking trips (mostly in the U.S.) together for over 10 years when she stumbled upon Safari Kay’s “Make a Difference” trip to Tanzania.
WHAT TO DO • WHAT TO TEACH!? THAT IS THE QUESTION!
My name is Carmelo. I try to go on the Make A Difference Safari along with my wife, Lauren, every year, if possible. So far, so good!
CHANGING LIVES
My sister Janet and I had a wonderful time visiting the children at the school. It was so rewarding to see your (Kay’s) efforts are truly paying off for the children. They have a very nice classroom for their lessons and to learn life skills.
NURTURING MY NEW FAMILY
Where do I even begin? The prospect of being able to go visit and hang out with this group of kids was overwhelming. I knew I would instantly fall in love, and some friends even joked, “You’re not bringing kids home with you, are you?”
